Grade 7 - Have started chapter 3 and are now on section 3.3. Much of this chapter has to do with drawing lines, parallel & perpendicular, angles, etc. The students will have an assignment for this chapter which is the Mathlink for the chapter. They will be working on it continuously throughout the chapter - it is to create an airport runway. Students have sheets to complete, a rough copy to draw and will be required to complete a good copy at the end. A due date has not been given on the assignment but it will probably be sometime during the last week of Nov.
Grade 8 - Tests for Chapter 2 were returned on Tuesday Nov 9. We have started Chapter 3 on Pythagorean Relationship. Currently students are working on squares and square roots and eventually we will use that information to understand the theory. Students will have an assignment for the chapter which has not been given or passed out yet, but it will most likely be to create a slideshow explaining the theory and relationship. We are only on section 3.1 and there are five sections in the chapter so we will be continuing to work through chapter 3 over the next couple of weeks.
