Dec 14 - Dec 18

Grade 7 - Have completed Chapter 4 and assignments are due on MONDAY DECEMBER 21. This week we finished all the sections in Chapter 4 and reviewed homework in class. Students were given some time in class to work on assignments and extra help was offered on Tuesday and Thursday at lunch. Students will be completing and passing in assignments next week and working on the Math Link for Section 4.3.
When we return on Jan 4th we will begin Chapter 5 on Probability.

Grade 9 - Have completed Chapter 2 and assignments are due on MONDAY DECEMBER 21. This week we finished all of the sections in the chapter, reviewed homework in class, and students were given time to work on their assignment and ask questions. There was extra help for the assignment on Tuesday & Thursday at lunch. Next week students will be completing assignments and working in the computer lab.
When we return on Jan 4th we will begin Chapter 3.

Dec 7-11

Grade 7 - Continue to work on Chapter 4. Will begin section 4.2 on Monday Dec 14, which mainly focuses on decimals - learning about repeating and terminating decimals. Both 7D & 7M recieved an assignment on Friday that is DUE MONDAY DECEMBER 21. There is extra help for the assignment on Tuesday & Thursday at noon. If the assignment is not passed in by Decmeber 22 at the latest, students will recieve a zero and they have all been made aware of this.

Grade 9 - Wrote a quiz on the first half of Chapter 2 on Thursday. We will be continuing to work on the second part of Chapter 2 this week and there will be an assignment given to cover the rest of the chapter which will be due before Christmas break.

Dec 1 - Dec 3

Grade 7 - Chapter 3 assignments & tests were handed back and we have started Chapter 4. We completed most of the examples from section 4.1 - although mutliplying is the easiest way to find percent, we are starting very basic and you can find the strategy we are using on pages 126-128 in the book. We will continue next week in chapter 4.

Grade 9 - Chapter 4 tests were handed back and assignment marks are on SAS. We are half way through chapter 2 and will be having a quiz on sections 2.2 - 2.7 on Thursday, Dec 10.

Class Updates - Dec 1, 2009

Grade 7 - We have just finished Chapter 3 on Geometry and will be beginning Chapter 4 on Decimals, Percents, and Fractions on Tuesday, Dec 2. This is a short chapter and I am hoping to get it finished before the Christmas break. I will be returning assignments and tests from Chapter 3 this week.

Grade 9 - We have completed Chapter 4 and have started Chapter 2. There will be a test or assignment half way through the chapter as it is a long one and another at the end. I am hoping to complete Chapter 2 before the break and having a test on Chapters 1, 4, and 2 to help in preperation for the exam/assessment at the end of the year. Chapter 4 tests will be returned this week and assignment marks will be on SAS after Parent Teacher interviews.
